The new Priority Mail Large Flat-Rate Box (12" x 12" x 5 1/2" or nearly 800 cubic inches) will be available in Post Offices nationwide beginning March 3, but customers can begin ordering them now at /supplies or by calling 80. The new, larger box extends the Postal Service's line of successful flat-rate offerings, providing more choices for small businesses and consumers. The current flat-rate boxes, introduced in November 2004, give customers a single, predetermined rate regardless of the weight or delivery zone. "Our new, bigger box gives customers even more room to send items across the country, with one flat price, regardless of how much they weigh or how far they're going." "Flat-rate shipping is the best value in the marketplace," said Postmaster General John Potter. If it fits, it ships, for just $12.95 to any US address beginning March 3. The new box is 50% larger than the current flat-rate boxes. There are also several different sizes of non-flat rate envelopes available.The Postal Service has launched a new box for larger shipments, giving customers three different size and shape options, all with convenient flat-rate pricing, to meet their shipping needs. Triangular tube boxes are also available in small and large sizes.It is 9 9/16” in length and 2 3/16 in width. Large Video Non- Flat Rate Box: This box holds up to two video tapes.Non-Flat Rate DVD Box: The DVD box is large enough to hold one to two DVDs in their cases.Shipping rates start at $5.05 for mailing this size box. Non-Flat Rate Side Loading Small Box: The side loading small box has an outside length of 12 ¼” and 2 7/8” wide.Non-Flat Rate Shoe Box: The shoe box offers a length of 7 3/8” and is 2 ½” in width.Non-Flat Rate Large Cube Box: the large cube box is 12 ¼” in length and width, and has an outside height of 8 ½”.Non-Flat Rate Small Cube Box: This small cube box is 7 ¼” long and tall.Before you order, it is a god idea to familiarize yourself with the various box sizes available.
